(no subject)

Who: Molotov, Simba, whoever
Where: Riverside
When: Day 147, early morning
What: morning in the life

[Two baby Hydras are wandering along the banks of the river today, and one of them is picking at bits of plantlife he comes across. Right now he has a particularly spiky, mean-looking thing.]

...I don't know, it's tougher, but I bet it wouldn't last long in the sink.

I'm just saying to be careful. If you find a patch where there seems to be no bad ones, you can assume they are all edible. But it'd be risky if they grow so close together.

[Grumble grumble] I know that... besides, it's always good to have a more experienced person check them over anyway. I'm still new too.

[identity profile] nevercomingback.insanejournal.com 2010-07-10 05:04 pm (UTC)(link)
...That is a good idea. I will see if I can find a less mixed spot of them and go ask someone who knows.

Oh. Um... I don't know anything about that. Sorry.

[identity profile] nevercomingback.insanejournal.com 2010-07-10 05:11 pm (UTC)(link)
No, I mean, it should be rougher than the rags, right?

[identity profile] assumedposition.insanejournal.com 2010-07-10 05:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh! ... Huh. I don't know if it would work, but it's worth a try! Thanks!

[identity profile] nevercomingback.insanejournal.com 2010-07-10 05:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Depends on if it holds together or not.

[identity profile] assumedposition.insanejournal.com 2010-07-10 05:21 pm (UTC)(link)
We won't know if we don't try, and I didn't think of that at all, so. Anything's helpful!

[...You're a strange one]

Thank you for your help.

[identity profile] assumedposition.insanejournal.com 2010-07-10 05:43 pm (UTC)(link)
[no u.]

It's no problem! Thank you as well. Feel free to stop by Hydra any time, okay? We'll help you while you're still getting settled in if we can.

[identity profile] nevercomingback.insanejournal.com 2010-07-10 06:04 pm (UTC)(link)
You're different compared to the rest of your team. The way you say that is different.

[identity profile] assumedposition.insanejournal.com 2010-07-10 06:06 pm (UTC)(link)
[Sigh I am never going to stop getting that, am I]

Would you prefer it if I was all rough around the edges like Scowl? I don't really see the point in it, personally.

[identity profile] nevercomingback.insanejournal.com 2010-07-10 06:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Scowl comes of as more trustworthy. Why do you say things in that tone when people might be killed the next day?

[identity profile] assumedposition.insanejournal.com 2010-07-10 06:34 pm (UTC)(link)
What?! What the hell is wrong with you-- all I'm doing is trying to be friendly! God forbid I do so in a place with so little hospitality in the first place!

I don't know what other people have told you, or what your own morals are, but I'll never kill another person just to win a game! Nothing's worth that to me! But whatever. I guess you can't trust me just because I'm polite, then fine. That's your own business. Have fun with that.

[identity profile] nevercomingback.insanejournal.com 2010-07-10 06:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Why would you- Why would you even consider killing anyone in a game? And I wouldn't do that either! And I said more trustworthy, I know your team is reasonable and Bond wouldn't have mentioned you otherwise.

But it really doesn't strike you as odd? Acting like you do. If that's really how you are, what if someone uses it against you?

[identity profile] assumedposition.insanejournal.com 2010-07-10 06:45 pm (UTC)(link)
[Deeeeeep breaths. Takes a few moments before answering, calming down.]

... Because that's what happens in some games. Sometimes teams are pitted against each other and have to make horrible life-or-death decisions.

If someone uses it against me, then I'll deal with that problem when I come to it. But trust and politeness are two-way doors. You can't get them without giving them. So I choose to give them. I'm sorry if you have a problem with that.

[identity profile] nevercomingback.insanejournal.com 2010-07-10 06:58 pm (UTC)(link)
I- I didn't know. No one told me that about the games. But the message in the tube said to not kill, I don't think I ever could...

[identity profile] nevercomingback.insanejournal.com 2010-07-10 07:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Trust and politeness still has nothing to do with each other, though. You talk and smile like everything will be alright, but how could anyone believe that? Especially after what you just told me.

[identity profile] assumedposition.insanejournal.com 2010-07-10 07:04 pm (UTC)(link)
... Because I believe things can be all right-- but only if everybody makes an effort for it to be.

[identity profile] nevercomingback.insanejournal.com 2010-07-10 07:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Then why does everyone keep warning us that it won't be? No one will let themselves get killed for some strangers sake.

[identity profile] assumedposition.insanejournal.com 2010-07-10 07:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Because they want you to be prepared.

But that's where the problem lies. Nobody wants to kill other people, but most people want to be killed even less than that. But we need it to be the other way around. What if everyone simultaneously refused to kill or hurt others? What then?
