[Two (slightly bloodied up) boys coming out of the caves after having snuck off at ridiculous o'clock in the morning today -- victorious! They've got themselves a nice little fatty lizard which is floating on home behind them courtesy of some wind magic. Which creates a mini hurricane of wind for anyone nearby when it's released. WHHHOOOOOSH.]

[ she runs her hand down her ribs a little, wincing as she touches some of the bruising, and then there's the scratches on her arms. ]

[Starts cleaning it out with the water and some yellow cloth as he speaks.]

What happened? From the beginning.

. . . it came out of the wall and it was chasing some people. Someone on the black team and the white team. I think it was hungry.

I had one of the spearheads from Carly's room. . . and I hit it in the eye with it. And it kept trying to eat me, so I threw rocks into its eye too. Then it hit me.

[ a small movement, almost like a shrug ]

I didn't have anything else to throw at it. But it had broken a wall, so I grabbed a rock from that and hit it in the eye again. That was when it did that [ nods down at the scratches ]. Then it ran away.

[When it's as clean as it's going to get, it's time to split the stalk of this plant open and put some of the numbing milk on the wound.]

And you came back to the dorm?

[ woah that's a little weird feeling. ]

[And now that you're numb, putting pressure on to get the blood to stop.]

This kind isn't so dangerous. They're big and well-armored, but also slow.

Another kind lives in the caves, though, too. They're smaller, faster, and have sharp teeth and claws. We ran into some of those, as well.
