I believe he had several variations of his name, including Laozi and Laocius. He is hailed as a Chinese Taoist philosopher.

My memory was of attempting to rescue Captain Pike and happening upon the Jellyfish. Upon entering the ship, the computer addressed me as "Ambassador Spock."

It is not, but I did not encounter him in the memory. The computer addressed me as him because of the voice print analysis.
