[Goes back to the body, and picks up her knife.]

[Shakes her head, and there's a hint, in the way she sits on the stone, of something bordering exhaustion.]

Allen . . . isn't someone I need to be guarded around. Even if he's not completely safe.

[Nods, and sets to skinning and de-boning the lizard, making it look less like a critter and more like dinner.]

It's . . . someone who belongs there.

But I don't know if Fang will still be Fang, when he does.

I don't know who 'Fang' is. I know whose memories he saw, but . . . that's not the same.

Maybe just . . . too many memories. Raven and Fang and I, and Carly too . . . we're not like you and Scowl. There's a gap, between the people we are, and the people we used to be.

Carly and I have talked about it - her being worried about that. I think everyone is at least a little separated from their old selves.

But at this level. . . I meant... what in his memories? Whose memory? This other person's?

I don't know. The only person who can answer that . . . he's been sleeping, these past three days.
