Jace, I have no real clue what's been going on around here lately... even when Scowl explains some of it. Red's told me a bit about the games and about that mission recently, but not much beside that.

And now there's a Judge running around and giving me warnings that might be related to the one that you apparently received.

Break it down for me. Are we running headlong into the end of this place?

We most likely are. There's a limit to what I can say about it; I've made some promises. But you remember that there have been cycles before us; it's starting to look a lot like we're hitting the end of this one.

The message was pretty vague but straight-forward: "Someone you know has caught the kind of attention no one wants. It is someone you would not like to see hurt. I cannot say more than that. If changes are made, it is yet possible to prevent serious harm. You must be cautious. They must also be cautious."

There are plenty of people I want to protect and keep from harm, Jace. If it's related to the message you received before, that limits the field of people who might get caught up be him, doesn't it. But now we've got the issue of whether or not this is to help us or make it worse for us. I couldn't identify who it was.

As Mitsuru pointed out, it could be someone lying to us, as well.

It wouldn't be wise to dismiss it as such, but we should still consider it.

I'd thought of that; we can't afford to ignore it, but we can prepare for it with all the caution we can. If it's a provocation, they're shooting blind.

Listen to the wording, though. Someone "you" would not like to see hurt. Not your team. The rest of it sounds a lot like mine...here, let me show you.

Jim was my friend. I've wronged Carly and have won Mitsuru's ire.

[a bit quieter] ... Saguru's someone I know from back home. I can't let the Old Man get to him, if it is Orion. I wouldn't let any of the ones I know from home get caught up in that. There's one on Cepheus, one on Ophiuchus, and of course the one on Monoceros was caught up by Mirror for safe keeping from this. Outside of them, there's Ikki and Dove on Pyxis...

Do we have any idea what draws the Old Man's attention besides low numbers? Orion and Monoceros would both seem to be at risk if that were the sole cause...

And what can we do to stop it?

It looks like we have overlap: Orion and Cepheus. And no, we don't know; low numbers is only speculation on my part, anyway. Nor do we know how it can be averted, if it even can...

The only way I can figure it is to move them. But if the Old Man somehow knows where they've move to... or, if this Judge is having us work to move them just so they can have an easier opportunity to get not only those we believe targeted but others as well...

That's one reason I'm wondering if it might not be the Old Man. We don't know how to avert him, unless I'm missing something. But there's a limited number of alternatives.

Sorry, I thought you had that fixed. So, north and south of the dorms...I'm not sure if that tells us much.

I'm working on it. Started taking a remedy for it today. I can see light and dark right now, just not much for shapes or colors yet.

Not sure, either. But how close to the edges of our living areas are they?

Not far at all. Certainly not right outside the dorms yet, but it may only be a matter of time.
