[As the festivities end and it’s time to head back to dorms, there seems to hang an uneasy feeling that has nothing to do with bittersweet goodbyes. The particularly astute may notice an uncomfortable stillness about; not a living thing is out and active, save the Blanks. Even the river seems stilled, as if holding its breath. The more sensitive can probably feel it coming, whatever it is. Even the insensitive may find something about the walk home distasteful.]

I thought the South Block was the last block, and the Judges had left us here to be taken.

I know there was a block before Lynx even arrived that people moved from. Everyone thought we'd just be left to be taken because we thought this area was certain death...

It might still be. Those empty dorms are abandoned for a reason.

Maybe they've already summoned a new batch to play for them elsewhere. We were banned from going North, weren't we? Who's to say there aren't fresh blanks living and playing there now?

Even with games as frequent as they are the arena still has quite a bit of time when it's empty. Two sets of blanks, both playing games...in the end it would balance as a net gain for the Judges, wouldn't it?

Judges don't do much in the way of personally monitoring us as it is.
