I agree. We also need to build up our food stores a little more again.

If we could find a way of preserving the meat that we hunt, it would help.

If I can put food in jars . . . [gestures] If you do it properly, they won't go bad as fast. Especially if you put them in salt, or oil, or vinegar.

We'd need the rest of those ingredients as well. But I'm sure we can find a way to arrange a trade.

Salt would be really good . . . for a number of things.

[shaking his head, rubbing his temple]

The problem is, I remember snatches of what it would take to do that sort of thing . . . a thought in passing, while cooking with something that had been canned or salted . . . I could probably backwards engineer it from that . . .

It's a shame I don't remember anything like that. Maybe someone from one of the older teams does?
