I doubt it, since it's pretty detailed. . .admittedly, Soldier's not a reliable narrator, but still.

If it matters so much - which it doesn't, by the way - then why don't you just ask him?

I think I will the next time he runs a game, assuming he's sober enough to give a relatively straight answer.

You're waiting until he's sober? For some crazy reason I think you'll be waiting awhile.

I'm not yelling! And I care. Maybe this isn't completely useless--I mean, why bother saving such a stupid story?

Because someone wanted a goddamn bookmark.

It did do a pretty good job of reminding me where I was in the story.

W-well yes, but before it became a bookmark. What if someone had saved it to look back on, and another person stumbled on it, thinking it was a waste of a paper, and turned it into a bookmark?

Or maybe the original writer realized it was a waste of paper and turned it into one themselves.

But I would hope they'd realize that before taking the time to write all this out. . .

I write down a lot of stuff that I think might be useful at the time. Sometimes it just turns out to be useless later. It's dated their 37th day, so they still knew hardly anything compared to us. It makes sense something useless might get recorded then.

That's a good point. . .though there's no way to compare how much they had experienced in those days. Maybe it is useless, but it might still have a little value to us. If it's true I'd really like to know who his wife is.
