(no subject)

Who: Hydra, Ikki, Allen, ANY
Where: The Arena
When: Day 98, evening
What: When we last left our intrepid heroes...

[In the arena, there's some decent quality meat burning as a gift to two particular Judges, a comatose member of Hydra and a few guards with torches... and not a whole lot else to explain what's going on.

Well the real interesting part is going on a little deeper anyway.]

Really? Well... it's not so common. Normal people have never seen things like my eye or my hand.

. . . I don't think I get to be called normal, where I'm from. Even if things . . . don't seem so different here.

Does Allen remember when he's from?

Well, instead of "normal," how about "not involved in the war"...

When? The date? It's the 1800's.

That far . . .

. . . I don't think I could be involved in Allen's war.

. . . You're from a different point? I mean - ah, I shouldn't be surprised, Jim has stuff like spaceships. . .

Re: MEANWHILE, IN THE ARENA:

Allen's war would need to last two hundred years. And reach Japan, too.

. . .Y-you're from Japan?

Re: MEANWHILE, IN THE ARENA:

[identity profile] pierrotdetous.insanejournal.com 2010-01-16 02:03 pm (UTC)(link)
I mean. . .

two hundred years and Japan. . . how is that . . .

Re: MEANWHILE, IN THE ARENA:

[identity profile] roadtothesky.insanejournal.com 2010-01-16 02:08 pm (UTC)(link)
'Allen' . . . it's English, isn't it? Though that could be a lot of countries . . .

Re: MEANWHILE, IN THE ARENA:

[identity profile] pierrotdetous.insanejournal.com 2010-01-16 02:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, English. Japan. . . that country has been almost completely wiped out by the Earl.

I only remember a little bit of history, from my time. But . . .

Who's the Earl?

Re: MEANWHILE, IN THE ARENA:

[identity profile] pierrotdetous.insanejournal.com 2010-01-16 02:25 pm (UTC)(link)
The Earl of the Millennium. He's who the Exorcists are fighting. Our war is hidden, the public wouldn't know about it in history - only the Bookman's records. But if you - you're really from that far in the future?

[Nods.]

I guess . . . that's good news, for Allen's side.

Re: MEANWHILE, IN THE ARENA:

[identity profile] pierrotdetous.insanejournal.com 2010-01-16 02:33 pm (UTC)(link)
. . .That's - that's good news for everyone. I can't believe even Japan could recover enough. . . Is it because we win? Is it because we get out of here and use our wishes?. . .

It's fine a hundred years ago, too.

. . . Kenshin's from then.

Re: MEANWHILE, IN THE ARENA:

. . .

That makes no sense.

Re: MEANWHILE, IN THE ARENA:

[identity profile] roadtothesky.insanejournal.com 2010-01-16 02:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Maybe . . . there's something missing?

None of us have remembered everything.

Re: MEANWHILE, IN THE ARENA:

[identity profile] pierrotdetous.insanejournal.com 2010-01-16 02:45 pm (UTC)(link)
M . . . maybe. . . and it's the future, so, there's still what hasn't happened yet. . . maybe Japan is restored?

Re: MEANWHILE, IN THE ARENA:

[identity profile] roadtothesky.insanejournal.com 2010-01-16 02:48 pm (UTC)(link)
When you say . . . 'wiped out'. What do you mean?

Re: MEANWHILE, IN THE ARENA:

[identity profile] pierrotdetous.insanejournal.com 2010-01-16 03:56 pm (UTC)(link)
. . . I mean... Master said that Japan has refused to deal with foreign intervention or trade for hundreds of years. Nobody's left and nobody's gone in. Because of that, it's become a nesting place for Akuma. And because of that... almost all the humans that lived there are dead.

The isolation ended. During Kenshin's time, when the power of the shoguns was returned to the Emperor.

I don't remember anything about people dying.

Re: MEANWHILE, IN THE ARENA:

[identity profile] pierrotdetous.insanejournal.com 2010-01-16 04:29 pm (UTC)(link)
So. . . if he was one hundred years ago, and I'm two hundred. . . if we beat the Earl in my lifetime, one hundred years for humans to recover in Japan.

[identity profile] roadtothesky.insanejournal.com 2010-01-16 09:06 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm not sure how, if things were that bad . . . I don't think we knew how to make people, back then. But . . . it seems that way, for sure.

Surprise?

Re: MEANWHILE, IN THE ARENA:

[identity profile] pierrotdetous.insanejournal.com 2010-01-16 09:52 pm (UTC)(link)
. . . You mean non-traditionally make people?
