What: When we last left our intrepid heroes...

[In the arena, there's some decent quality meat burning as a gift to two particular Judges, a comatose member of Hydra and a few guards with torches... and not a whole lot else to explain what's going on.

Well the real interesting part is going on a little deeper anyway.]

. . . I've had a practice round or two. I think I'll manage first try for this one.

That would be good.

[Flips the meat, adding a few more pieces. The air is beginning to smell delicious.]

. . . he named me, here.

[his stomach growls (not that this is uncommon even when there's no food around) and he scratches the back of his neck]

Fang did? For your hair, right?

[Nods . . . and takes off the first two pieces, putting them on a flat stone and sliding them over.]

Mmm . . . back before I knew anything. Even that.

[still looking at Fang]

I remember. You were really sweet.

Well. you're still sweet. But I was really aggravated.

... Well.

I remember.

[huffs]

Now even though I remember manners, I don't feel like using them half the time.

It always sounds kind of strange, when Allen does.

[Leaves the meat to cook, taking the bowl of blood and setting it beside Persona's couch.]

[rubs his temple above his crazyeye]

I was always polite before. Not always, but -- I remembered five years at a time, of that. It feels more natural to be polite. But everyone... it is strange, yeah? It's like it's dishonest, even if I don't mean to be. So. . . I keep talking like this.

What is the blood for?

The big ones . . . they're strange, aren't they? So much, all at once . . .

I'm not sure yet.

Not sure. . . failsafe blood?

Something like that.

Isn't Allen hungry? I can put those aside, if he's not.

--Some is for me? You don't have to do that.

[Puts the rock-plate riiight in front of him.]

You're hungry, aren't you?

. . . Thank you.

[Goes back to cooking, taking the next two pieces off and adding them to his plate.]

I just wanted to cook it. Someone should appreciate it after.

. . . I don't know if they'll be hungry, when they get back. But there's a lot here.

[Putting food in front of Allen Walker means relinquishing rights to food OMNOMNOM]

It's still your lizard. I can pay you back later.

[It's not as if she's eating any herself.]

. . . mmm. I wouldn't want Lacerta to get in trouble, because of me. Or Pavo, either.

Allen mentioned salt, before? We've never had any of that. Or if there are seedlings you can spare, from your garden. It doesn't have to be much.

Aah - some salt then.

That's fine.

I'll be right back . . . can you keep these cooking?

I'll come by Pavo after he's woken up. --Sure.

[Bundles up the skin and scraps, and a portion of the meat, and heads in the direction of the dorms.]

Come tomorrow. We should all sleep tonight.

... Sure.

[It's not long at all before she's back, hands washed and with water and a wet cloth to clean up the stone.]
