[Four revived-but-not-completely-healed Corvi and a bitten-but-not-bleeding survived Lynx coming back from the Arena. Everything is terrible and everything hurts, but at least we got memories.]

Dagger, you are very wanted. You need to decide how you want to settle the score with your past, but you should also know that everyone on Lyvus would very much look forward to sharing some sort of future with you.

[Leans into it and hugs back after a few seconds, whenever did he learn?]

I wish there was a way to do both.

Do you want that? We can arrange that. But you have to want it.

If anyone wastes their wish on me, I wouldn't be happy either. We don't even know if we're getting them at all.

For one thing, it wouldn't be a waste. And even if we don't know we're getting them—that doesn't matter. We have to act under the assumption that we are—we're going for a goal. That's the only way to move forward.

I guess I... if I could just forget, then I wouldn't have to choose.

That won't make anybody happy. Not you, not the people you've wronged, not the team that loves you. It seems like the easy answer, but it's not, even. It's no good. I'm sorry that things will be difficult . . . but life is about difficult choices, and learning how to be strong enough to make them.

But you're not alone in doing so.

Things ended up going really badly during the game today, I made everything worse for everyone, but especially Spark. But even if he forgives me for that...

While you were gone, he asked me if I wanted to come with him after we leave this place, I said yes. But that's because I thought I could get away with being a coward. Now I'll have to take it back and he'll definitely never forgive that.

The one who decides who is worth being forgiven is the one doing the forgiving, Dagger.

And why not go with him? I think that would be fine.

Because if I can't run away, I'll need to use my wish on something else.

So someone else could wish for something like, wanting all of Lyvus to be alive and able to visit each other. We're a team—we could work together, somehow. We don't even know how anything will turn out—why limit ourselves? If we've got nothing to lose . . . I don't see anything wrong with hoping.

And if we hope and that never comes true? It's frightening.

Meeting defeat knowing that we put our all into it is better than never daring to hope at all. Incredibly frightening—but we're not in a position where we can afford to play it safe and hope to get anything.
