[Whatever locks the Geardorm has on its main doors have now been very securely locked. And then re-locked, just to be sure.

A cranky tiny is scrutinizing them as if he's seriously considering adding more.]

Mmm, but it is a bit different.

It is. My memories . . . sometimes they seem really simple, compared to everyone's here.

I am glad for that.

You made a future where people like me could have lives like that.

Ahhh . . . Feathers is giving me far too much credit.

It's something I think, when I think about your memories. The things that shape the future . . . they're made by everyone in the present, and the past. But even when there's times you can't say one person made things the way they are, you can't say that things would have been just the same without them, either.

Had I not done what I did, another would have. My actions are not that significant.

But it wasn't someone else. It was you.

Still.

And it's really hard to change people's minds when they blame you for good things happening.

And I think I'm more stubborn than Poofy, too.

I have done nothing to deserve such blame, good or not.

And I am far more stubborn than Feathers, as well.

Still not changing!

[some obvious hesitation, but his expression doesn't change] But our team is on such a streak, and this one should perhaps take a few of his memories so he does not end up with more than he can handle.

[Turns back to face him, setting the cloth back down.]

. . . if I am not troubling Feathers, perhaps in a bit, once she's settled in.

[Shakes her head.]

After food . . . I'd like thinking about something else.

[. . . lifts his hand, after a moment, and lightly strokes her hair]

[Takes that as an invitation to rest her head against his shoulder, just . . . holding that moment, some last bit of tension draining from her shoulders.]

[keeps it up, then, his touch slow and gentle]

[It's . . . nice. Really nice, just to sit like this, at least until Edward and Rapunzel come back

at which point the potatoes and fish disappear with a focused, ravenous edge far more reminiscent of her blood drinking days.]

[. . . well, it's good to have a healthy appetite . . . ]

Feeling better, then?

Breakfast will be good too. But right now . . . that was really good.

[Gets up, taking a step toward Pavo's side of the dorm and holding out her hands.]

If you are still hungry, you should eat more.
