[As the festivities end and it’s time to head back to dorms, there seems to hang an uneasy feeling that has nothing to do with bittersweet goodbyes. The particularly astute may notice an uncomfortable stillness about; not a living thing is out and active, save the Blanks. Even the river seems stilled, as if holding its breath. The more sensitive can probably feel it coming, whatever it is. Even the insensitive may find something about the walk home distasteful.]

[grabs his hand but reluctantly pulls away, standing up]

[follows her up, equally reluctantly]

[WE ARE NOW AT THE HATCH]

[sob. climbs up and out]

[flinches when the hatch opens, half expecting to hear that call again]

[Follows her up and looks around. Fedora is safe-ish right? right? Sob]

[shaking like a leaf the whoooole time, and sticking close by his side. She's clinging onto his hand uncomfortably tightly]

[Peeeeering for Pyxis]

[Allows it. His ears are flicking as he looks in that direction too. Sharp eyes catching sight of the small crowd of red and pink in front of where pygnus dorms should be]

... s'that them?

Eh—yeah- What the hell are they doing, standing outside?!

Are they crazy?

They… They're not that stupid! Nobody would be! Something's… gotta be wrong. [running closer to the edge of the fedora, squinting hard]

[We're definitely too far away to tell what's going on]

[swallows hard] Y'wanna go check it out?

[bites her lip, indecisive]

[just grips her hand, silent reassurance that he'd go with her if she wants to]

We ain't got much time.

…I-It's not like there's anything I can do for them right now… I'll go tomorrow.

[nods. Squeezes her hand reassuringly]

They'll be able to take care of themselves.

[But… but…!] Yeah.

[Turns away, heading back to the hatch]
