game 61, night three.

Who: Those in Veiled's game.
Where: Veiled's realm.
When: Day xx+2, ?????.
What: Night 3.

[darkness is once again, falling. in front of Veiled's statue, which holds a net, there lies two piles of cushions.]

Will it end by your hands? Or will it continue?

[Cygnus is here. Orion is here. Voting is here.]

So instead of you gaining the intelligence to deal with people based on their actions instead of their attitudes, I should pretend to be something I am not.

Did Masamune actually seem like the type to work with anyone? You're basing his choices off what you would do.

Idiot. What if you're infected and go out? You wanna leave behind a guy who can win for you. Anyone would do it.

Well, I'm not. I just don't know between the other two.

[shrugs]

Not everyone would do that though, I... don't think if I was on my way out, I'd want to put someone in that situation just because I liked him.

I don't know if this is the case. But they could have also thought ahead of us and picked him because no one would suspect it was Cygnus.

Right. Then where would you say he lies? I'm not sure if Canis was ever overly familiar with Orion, but isn't he fairly new? [gestures at Kira] You can't base is strictly off of that.

Also, wouldn't it make more sense to pick someone random? I doubt the infected would want their successors to be tracked so easily.

[shrugs]

That's what I would've done, anyway.

That isn't what I said at all! Actions and attitudes go hand and hand! No matter what you do, if you make yourself look like a suspicious jerk by running your mouth off, the majority will still turn against you.

So if you're the infected, you'd pick someone you dislike?

He's a smart guy. Anyone'd see from listening to him.

If they're smart enough. Canis is full of idiots. That guy couldn't even pretend to be worried about losing. Only infected have a reason not to worry. They leave people behind.

It isn't about changing! He should learn how to act to get things done. He can go right back to being a jerk when we're all out of here.

You wanna take a risk that someone else took a risk? Do you know the guy? Is he like that?

Who you work with, who you know, has nothing to do with who can win for you. Because they aren't winning for you, they're winning for themselves. I'm a good option because I'm smart, and a bad option because it's obvious. Cygnus may not have intelligence, though he's probably ahead of Monoceros in that regard, but he can keep his head down and do nothing and avoid suspicion.

You're clearly abrasive and not particularly independent. It's not much of a surprise you'd think to infect someone you know. But trust in this game doesn't come from alliances, it comes from necessity. Once you're infected, regardless of who you are and who infected you, you play to win.

Considering the way things are going, Cygnus would be a better option than me. You notice he's doing nothing, but still less suspicious than me.

. . . Smart or not, that guy is good at playing it even. He'd be like this if he were on either side, I bet.

For me, since it's between you two, it's your word against his, and its' . . . really hard to tell.

(frozen comment) Re: [Orion]

[identity profile] lets_mosey.insanejournal.com 2009-12-03 07:23 am (UTC)(link)
No, I mean... I didn't really think about it. But I'd pick someone I thought could win, like Scowl said.

He's smart and aggressive. Even if what he says makes sense, he seems like the type that will make enemies regardless. Not exactly the kind of attention you'd want drawn your team.

. . .point. Though I still think people should worry in general given that we don't know what happens after that.

(frozen comment) Re: [Orion]

[identity profile] righthandsmoke.insanejournal.com 2009-12-03 07:26 am (UTC)(link)
It wasn't obvious at all til you got paired with useless morons in a clue. That defense is shit. Anyone picking you wouldn't know that when they did it.

Like I told that girl, it's only better if the guy infecting you was smart enough to know it. I don't think he was.

Then I'll lose this game, because I didn't fake smiles or kindness, or pretend not to see or think what I do. But this isn't my last game, and we'll play together again. It's better you all get used to my nature now. I'm not going to spend all my time here lying just to suit your delicate egos.

(frozen comment) Re: [Orion]

[identity profile] lets_mosey.insanejournal.com 2009-12-03 07:28 am (UTC)(link)
. . . Maybe you'd be less suspicious if you didn't make so many toss-away blanket statements.

Between you and Monoceros, it's someone who's even-headed and distant and not afraid to be accusatory, versus a team that hasn't said much where everyone can see. You're the one who decided you were the "obvious" choice. To me it's not obvious at all.

(frozen comment) Re: [Orion]

[identity profile] lawfulreception.insanejournal.com 2009-12-03 07:29 am (UTC)(link)
Maybe so, but he draws in negative attention. If he isn't infected, it isn't so bad, so he can speak his mind freely even if it risks making him look suspicious. I think an infected person would try to be a little more. . .hm, cautious? But that's just me taking a guess.

Jeeze, it isn't us! I'm not even going to waste time arguing that. It's a fact.
