[There's a smell of smoke in the air. His clothing has been repaired (?) but the skin visible on his hands are burnt, though they are knitting and healing as he cradles them. That is, if you can see them very well at all.]

A few things happened. The fire was the worst part of it, but we got through.

I think often I hold mine back too. It's a big fear. But that doesn't mean it's true.

I... almost have no hearing left. My vision's bad, and I'm dying. They all know it.

I can kill people and I can fight, but they worry about me and don't want me to strain myself. So doesn't that mean-? Even though I'm happier straining myself. I don't want to die rotting and not doing anything.

But Bond said, even when there's things I can't do, that there's things I do that nobody else does. That are needed.

You, too, you're on your team with a place there... right?

I can sympathize. But whatever we think, there is someone who does have a place for us... as you said. While we might not be on the same team, I think you do matter, too.
