Guess I'll just have to wait and see. But I don't recall anything that would let me fly.

*letting go and sitting down so you can catch your breath; also enjoying the awesome view!*

Does it take long to collect more mana?

*sits down next to you, leaning against your shoulder companionably*

Not really; I don't think any mage could completely drain a land dry without deliberately laying it waste. It's a question of how much I can draw and channel at a time, mostly, so it can happen quickly.

Is it easier the closer you are to the water?

[identity profile] blue_mind_group.insanejournal.com 2010-08-28 08:27 am (UTC)(link)
A bit, but not enough to make that much of a difference. Once I establish a bond, I can draw on it from anywhere -- even off-plane.

It's one of the biggest advantages to being a planeswalker -- that and learning magic from different places.

[identity profile] clap_your_hands.insanejournal.com 2010-08-28 08:35 am (UTC)(link)
Something different in every world, huh?

...sort of makes me wonder how similar all the different types might really be.

[identity profile] blue_mind_group.insanejournal.com 2010-08-28 08:59 am (UTC)(link)
Like the dreams on Lorwyn.

I've always been curious about that. The planes I remember are all pretty different.

When I get more memories back, we can compare notes.

[identity profile] blue_mind_group.insanejournal.com 2010-08-28 09:12 am (UTC)(link)
That sounds like something I can get behind.

[identity profile] clap_your_hands.insanejournal.com 2010-08-28 09:17 am (UTC)(link)
*nods*

Just gotta wait for the right ones. The new one wasn't any more help than the last one was.

[identity profile] clap_your_hands.insanejournal.com 2010-08-28 09:27 am (UTC)(link)
Ah, it was... kinda weird, really. I was injured and in the hospital, and the Fuhrer showed up to give me a melon. And to tell us that some enemy had infiltrated the military. He warned us about that then... jumped out the window and left.

[identity profile] clap_your_hands.insanejournal.com 2010-08-28 09:35 am (UTC)(link)
*laughs a little*

Yeah, it was a ground-floor room. And he'd snuck out of work to drop off the melon and the warnings.

[identity profile] blue_mind_group.insanejournal.com 2010-08-28 09:39 am (UTC)(link)
*laughs*

Why do I get the feeling that the melon was just as important as the warnings?

[identity profile] clap_your_hands.insanejournal.com 2010-08-28 09:43 am (UTC)(link)
*laughs a lot*

It might've been! There really wasn't much else to that memory, or the visit.

[identity profile] blue_mind_group.insanejournal.com 2010-08-28 09:51 am (UTC)(link)
One of the small ones, then. Maybe it'll be significant later.

[identity profile] clap_your_hands.insanejournal.com 2010-08-28 09:53 am (UTC)(link)
Maybe. Got some names out of it, at least, and a good look at military uniforms. A little more on what my brother and I were doing, too; I guess we did research of some sort. Ever heard of a Philosopher's Stone?

[identity profile] blue_mind_group.insanejournal.com 2010-08-28 10:04 am (UTC)(link)
*thinks, then shakes his head*

Nothing I've ever heard of, sorry.

[identity profile] clap_your_hands.insanejournal.com 2010-08-29 02:34 am (UTC)(link)
Mm... enough games and sooner or later I'll know what it is. We were doing research on it, but we weren't the only ones... we were looking at some notes when Fuhrer Bradley showed up, and one of them he said was a list of people researching it.

They'd all disappeared.

[identity profile] blue_mind_group.insanejournal.com 2010-08-29 02:38 am (UTC)(link)
So, something powerful enough or dangerous enough to make people vanish for.

[identity profile] clap_your_hands.insanejournal.com 2010-08-29 03:05 am (UTC)(link)
*nods*

Or both. The people who disappeared were all with the military, and had all vanished without a trace; the Fuhrer mentioned an enemy that had infiltrated, and that even within the military itself we couldn't know who to trust...

[identity profile] blue_mind_group.insanejournal.com 2010-08-29 03:09 am (UTC)(link)
*nods*

Sounds almost like some kind of state secret.

[identity profile] clap_your_hands.insanejournal.com 2010-08-29 03:22 am (UTC)(link)
Mm, maybe even bigger than that, if people were disappearing from under the state's nose.
