(no subject)

Who: SOME DUDE IN YELLOW (and his shouta ghost)
Where: The main room of Orion dorms (and, eventually, just outside, if you need an excuse)
When: Day 83, Morning.
What: Intro~

*The new blank has promptly confiscated the largest knife he can find, and his holding it with a fair amount of confidence for someone who has no memory of how to use it. It is not time to systematically check all the other rooms in the dorms. He pushes the doors open quietly, and seems quite prepared to stab anyone if necessary.

And, for those who can see such things, there is a small ghost child floating behind him*

He asked me to tell him what friends were.

[identity profile] in_the_chair.insanejournal.com 2009-11-23 02:16 pm (UTC)(link)
... I didn't get that one. But he did seem to have problems grasping the whole team concept.

[identity profile] analyze_that.insanejournal.com 2009-11-23 02:23 pm (UTC)(link)
[gradually, stops fidgeting.]

I don't think he's going to get the concept of normal human friendships on his own. Or teams, for that matter. Maybe not ever. Hard to say, until he gets some memories back, but...I don't think it was an act.

[identity profile] in_the_chair.insanejournal.com 2009-11-23 02:24 pm (UTC)(link)
... not just him being an ass? Some fundamental lack of understanding?

[identity profile] analyze_that.insanejournal.com 2009-11-23 02:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Or a different understanding. He didn't see why people would want to be friends.

[identity profile] analyze_that.insanejournal.com 2009-11-23 10:05 pm (UTC)(link)
We might be able to teach it to him. Or we might not. If we're lucky, his memories have the reason why it works for him in them, but if they don't, we're going to have to try on our own. And with the games and their rules...

[identity profile] in_the_chair.insanejournal.com 2009-11-24 02:13 am (UTC)(link)
Fifty-fifty chance of something going horribly wrong before he can settle in properly.

[identity profile] analyze_that.insanejournal.com 2009-11-24 08:39 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah. But better then the alternative.

[identity profile] in_the_chair.insanejournal.com 2009-11-24 08:47 am (UTC)(link)
... he's team. Whether he settles in or not, he's one of us.

But it'd sure make my life easier if he realized that fact.

[identity profile] analyze_that.insanejournal.com 2009-11-24 10:14 am (UTC)(link)
[nods]

...look, I'm going to try to not slip up around him, but...if I do? Or did? I'm sorry.

[identity profile] in_the_chair.insanejournal.com 2009-11-24 10:17 am (UTC)(link)
[blinks for a moment, parsing that]

Are you kidding? You're fine. He's the one wandering into people's rooms with their stolen knives.

[identity profile] analyze_that.insanejournal.com 2009-11-24 12:21 pm (UTC)(link)
[shrugs]

Still means you have to play buffer during the "convince the new guy" period until he gets it at all. If he gets it.

[identity profile] in_the_chair.insanejournal.com 2009-11-24 12:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Yep. Just like with Mitsuru. ... Carly says he was just nervous with her, though, so hell. She might be better at handling him than me.

[identity profile] analyze_that.insanejournal.com 2009-11-24 12:28 pm (UTC)(link)
That...hm.

[sitting on his bed, looking at the floor.]

[identity profile] in_the_chair.insanejournal.com 2009-11-24 12:29 pm (UTC)(link)
[leans against the wall]

That looks like a thinking face.

[identity profile] analyze_that.insanejournal.com 2009-11-24 12:43 pm (UTC)(link)
[tilting his head up after a moment]

...You told her to help him, right? Maybe you should leave her to it for a day. Let her settle him in as much as she can. Then come back to him, with Elza. Reinforce the structure we've got.

[identity profile] in_the_chair.insanejournal.com 2009-11-24 12:45 pm (UTC)(link)
[considering. man, he hates taking the hands-off approach, but ... ]

If he wanders off and Carly isn't around to go with him, I can't just let him go alone. ... other than that.

[identity profile] analyze_that.insanejournal.com 2009-11-24 12:49 pm (UTC)(link)
[nods, slowly]

Someone there to make sure things are okay. That'd reinforce the notion that we're there for each other, at least. It doesn't have to be just you and Carly though--the rest of us could do it, too.

[identity profile] in_the_chair.insanejournal.com 2009-11-24 12:57 pm (UTC)(link)
[has to think about that too.]

It's not a requirement. When it comes down to being the buffer, that's the leader's responsibility. But hell, if you're there and can do it, I'd be damn appreciative.

[identity profile] analyze_that.insanejournal.com 2009-11-24 01:03 pm (UTC)(link)
[shrugs]

I'll deal with it. Somehow. Plus, it reinforces the position that we're all there for him. We need him to trust all of us, not just you and Carly. I can tell Elza about it too, and you can tell Mickey?

[identity profile] in_the_chair.insanejournal.com 2009-11-24 01:05 pm (UTC)(link)
[rubs at his head]

Yeah, okay. You're right about that.

... Mickey?

[identity profile] analyze_that.insanejournal.com 2009-11-24 01:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Er. Mitsuru. ...Mickey doesn't really fit him, does it?

[identity profile] in_the_chair.insanejournal.com 2009-11-24 01:12 pm (UTC)(link)
[blinks for a moment. then laughs.]

How much does he glare at you for it?

[identity profile] analyze_that.insanejournal.com 2009-11-24 01:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Haven't slipped in front of him yet. But I imagine it's only a matter of time before he tries to glare me into nothing.
