(no subject)

Who: SOME DUDE IN YELLOW (and his shouta ghost)
Where: The main room of Orion dorms (and, eventually, just outside, if you need an excuse)
When: Day 83, Morning.
What: Intro~

*The new blank has promptly confiscated the largest knife he can find, and his holding it with a fair amount of confidence for someone who has no memory of how to use it. It is not time to systematically check all the other rooms in the dorms. He pushes the doors open quietly, and seems quite prepared to stab anyone if necessary.

And, for those who can see such things, there is a small ghost child floating behind him*

If all I wanted was extra help, I'd call in an ally. A teammate is a hell of a lot more important than that.

[holds up a hand. waggles the fingers.]

See this?

Congratulations, you know basic anatomy.

This is our team. Most of the time we work best when we can be flexible. Do our own shit. That kind of thing. I'm all for it. But there's no point in cutting off one of the fingers and telling it to go poke things on its own. We need common ground to work from if we're gonna manage anything halfway useful.

[makes a fist]

Plus there's times when we've really gotta punch something in the face.

[okay, now he's walking after you]

This'll get you there eventually as long as you don't make a wrong turn later on.

And I didn't intend to have this argument a second time. Life's full of surprises like that.

... and bad metaphors, but that's practically a job-requirement at this point.

Yeah. Sometimes it's easy -- we just don't get memories back. Sometimes it's much, much worse.

[you do indeed]

Carly's? .... yeah. That's one of the worse options.

Yep. We eat those. Not raw, though. You have to catch 'em, clean 'em, and then cook 'em properly first.

If you want. They need water to breathe, so they won't live long even if you take them out still living.

[...........]

-- okay, first thing. You'd have a lot more range with a spear. Second thing: we don't kill things with Chaz's knife. Chaz's knife is for cooking only.

A blade that cuts things for cooking. Raw stuff? Doesn't taste good. And neither does stuff cooked when we've got blood all over our kitchen knife.

You don't want to learn how to get the scales off properly?

Thaaat's what I thought. ... bring it back to the dorms and I'll show you how to prep it.
