It was some weird betting thing at first, with the Soldier. He removed the bracers off Mao and this other Ophiuchus and transported them to another world, then tossed Lacerta in the same world. And they had to survive while Mao and the other guy shot... things and people.

The other teams had to play carnival games to try and win weapons for Lacerta, but. They all died and Soldier couldn't revive them. The Queen was called to revive and this was the payment. [motions towards the dress]
