Calculated decision. If Queen hit us bad, we'd need someone on hand to care for people. We gained more than by me trying to lesson the punishment by joining in.

Though it looks like she decided to go with embarrassing rather than painful.

Bad game and Lacerta died. Turns out Soldier and Gambler can't revive people at all. Canis got impatient and summoned Queen to revive them, and they got a hell of a lot of volunteers to help pay for the cost.
