[Someone's snuck out of the dorms vvvery early. And appears to be taking it out on the rocks with his materia.

Close enough, I don't hear anything rattling around in there. How's your hand?

[snickers]

[holds up right hand] This? Got it back a while ago. Wanna see something cool?

As in possibly violent or disgusting? Sure, why not?

[holds out his right hand, open palmed. You can see the tip of a katana coming out from that hand, along with swirling green light. Soon there's a katana in his hand with a length of chain connecting the cuff on his hand to the hilt.]

I can also see the appeal of that. Still not seeing how you got the sword in there, but I guess that's a pretty minor issue.

Probably came with being a zombie.

Mmm. Maybe it's part of the deal. Tools of the trade. Whichever.

I can talk to the real spirit, soul, whatever... after I kill the zombie. The sword can open some sort of portal to send them off.

[nods at Chaz's bracer] S'that one of those magic things you were using?

[prying it at the bracer and tossing it at Chika]

[catches and turns it over in his hand to examine it]

Neat. How's it work?

Put it in your bracer. Then you "aim" at least ten to twenty feet away from you to avoid splash damage, and let go, with your brain.

Sounds easy 'nough.

[pops the materia into his bracer. Aims his bracer arm at an empty spot ahead of them and...

Nothing happens.]

[...blinks]

[pulls back his hand to look at the materia then tries again.

Again, nothing happens.]

No, it should work instinctively. It's got the memory there.
