He doesn't even try to attack from an awkward angle, sliding almost directly in front, he feigns high and comes in for a straight kick at your ribs]

[Agito may be able to see the brief, shit-eating grin Ikki has before he moves, taking a step back and bringing his hands down to catch the kick, using the momentum to either toss the shark or at least get him off balance]

[The predictable duck means the real shot clips him hard in the shoulder. Ikki can hear an explosive curse as it connects in full... and might feel something dangerously wrong in the fact that the shark DOESN'T just drop with that...

Using the mud as an impromptu A-T, he uses that force to spin around and aim a knee for Ikki's midsection.]

[not dropping from THAT is definitely getting his attention, but more importantly so is that knee; takes a step back and twists with the knee, so that while it does connect, it doesn't do enough damage to stop him from catching the leg itself]

[This time, it's not a grip near the ankle, the realization dawns a moment to late, and the attempt to wrest back just puts him off balance.]
