[There's a person in gray walking around the new buildings. He seems to be scanning the area around the two buildings, getting his bearings perhaps? Though he looks pretty calm and collected.

Okay. I don't know how many you will start with. Most teams have six people on them, but the other teams have all been around for awhile. Yours and one other are brand new.

There were six rooms outside of the main area. It seems likely there will be six here as well.

...Ah, no. I meant how many will be present for now. The teams can have up to six people, but those spots are not always filled. My team has only five currently.

...I couldn't say right now. I did not wish to disturb the occupants of the rooms.

It's okay. I'm not sure what you have heard already, but...

This place is run by the Judges who put on games for the teams to compete in. These games range from harmless and fun to dangerous and upsetting. If you win, you will receive back one of the memories you gave up in order to enter this place. Once you have completed your time here, you will be able to ask one wish of the Judges.

There are twelve older teams, so fourteen in total once you include your team and your partner team. Your partner team will be the one team with whom you can share resources without penalty. In some games you will be paired with them as well.

[Nods, thinking this over.]

So we came here for a wish?

And what do you mean without penalty? There's a penalty for sharing resources?

Yes.

There is. There is a special team, not among the fourteen Blank teams, who carry out the Judges' orders. If you sleep over at a dorm that is not your partner team, if you visit a place called the Pillar unattended, or if you share food and resources with teams other than your partner, you will be punished by them.

[Frowns, thinking about that.]

...doing something like that...they don't want us cooperating.

They don't. Some games are designed to turn us against one another. Many teams are able to move past that, some are not.

Red, a person on my team, knows the most about this place of anyone, you should talk to him when you have the chance. He will be wearing the same colours as me, with one eye covered. Information is something that we can give freely.

I see. [Seems to be seriously pondering this.] I'll have to talk to this Red.

You should. He likes to share knowledge with people, he would be more than happy to help.

If you would like, I can show you the lake for fishing and a few things you can gather for food. The Judges give rations but it isn't much, you need to be able to provide for yourself as well.

[Nods.] That would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe we can ask someone from Orion to come, they are better at it than I am...

At gathering food?

Fishing with spears. I can show you the cabbage and mushrooms and things like that well enough, and maybe we can help you start a garden if we split a few potatoes...

I know the medicinal herbs as well, and how to use them.

We'd have to pay you back for the potatoes, correct?

Knowing medicinal herbs would be good as well.

Food, water, medicinal plants...that should help a lot.

Can you tell me more about the judges?

We don't know very much about them. They run the games, and as far as I know none have seen their true form yet. The ones to watch out for are Surgeon, Flowers, and Mirror.
