(no subject)

Who: Rory, Lynx, Anyone
Where: The Lynx and Corvus area.
When: Day 145, afternoon
What: Look, some new people!

[There's a person in gray walking around the new buildings. He seems to be scanning the area around the two buildings, getting his bearings perhaps? Though he looks pretty calm and collected.

Bother?]

... Sorry. I can, um, leave. If you want.

[... shakes his head.]

No. I have questions.

[identity profile] assumedposition.insanejournal.com 2010-07-05 09:36 am (UTC)(link)
Don't we all...

I'd be happy to answer anything you want to ask, but I only arrived here this week too, so I'm still getting used to things as well.

[holding up his tube!]

What does the message in this mean?

[identity profile] assumedposition.insanejournal.com 2010-07-05 09:52 am (UTC)(link)
It depends on what you said.

As far as I'm aware, before coming here and having their memories erased, everyone leaves a short message for themselves in those tubes. So everyone's message is different-- the only thing they have in common is the line about doing this willingly.

"This will be easy. Don't falter."

Is it supposed to be advice?

[identity profile] assumedposition.insanejournal.com 2010-07-05 10:05 am (UTC)(link)
... I guess so, yeah.

Sometimes... Sometimes things here can be kind of brutal. I don't even know the full extent of it myself, but the teams compete against each other to get our memories back and win our wish-- whatever that may be. So maybe your past self is trying to tell you not to lose hope, even though things may seem rough and confusing?

[identity profile] acoldshoulder.insanejournal.com 2010-07-05 10:36 am (UTC)(link)
[considers! and then nods.]

Do those competitions get to that extent often?

[identity profile] assumedposition.insanejournal.com 2010-07-05 10:43 am (UTC)(link)
Ah... I haven't really been here long enough to know. Sorry.

[identity profile] acoldshoulder.insanejournal.com 2010-07-05 10:57 am (UTC)(link)
All right.

I'll keep my own advice in mind, then, if something like that happens.

[identity profile] assumedposition.insanejournal.com 2010-07-05 11:04 am (UTC)(link)
... Good.

Ah, I'm Simba of Hydra, by the way! [Plucking his lime green shirt] We're a little far away from here, but.

[identity profile] acoldshoulder.insanejournal.com 2010-07-05 11:12 am (UTC)(link)
[nods]

Our team is Lynx... and I don't know my name.

[identity profile] assumedposition.insanejournal.com 2010-07-05 11:15 am (UTC)(link)
Lynx, huh... sounds cool!

And yeah, not knowing your name is normal. Everyone's like that when they first get here, apparently. I still don't know my real name either. But that's okay! You can pick your own if you think of something that suits you. Or be bestowed one by someone else, that's how I ended up with mine.

[identity profile] acoldshoulder.insanejournal.com 2010-07-05 11:21 am (UTC)(link)
It's hard to think of one myself without memories.

[identity profile] assumedposition.insanejournal.com 2010-07-05 11:23 am (UTC)(link)
I know, right? I kind of felt that way too. Though, a lot of my teammates have names of objects or things that it's easy to associate them with. Like Scowl or Fang or Rain.

[identity profile] acoldshoulder.insanejournal.com 2010-07-05 11:47 am (UTC)(link)
[checking over himself...]

The only concrete thing I know to associate myself with is "Lynx", though.

[identity profile] assumedposition.insanejournal.com 2010-07-05 12:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Hmmm. Personality traits? Looks? You seem like a pretty straight forward kinda guy, to me.

[identity profile] acoldshoulder.insanejournal.com 2010-07-05 12:44 pm (UTC)(link)
... Do you think something like "Forward" would be too simple?

[identity profile] assumedposition.insanejournal.com 2010-07-05 12:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Huh. Well, I like it, but there might be some misunderstandings when you introduce yourself? Hm... let's see. Straight forward, honest, blunt, straight arrrow... Arrow?

[identity profile] assumedposition.insanejournal.com 2010-07-05 01:05 pm (UTC)(link)
My team was telling me about them. They're a type of weapon, but they can be used as markers, or warnings too, since you can fire them from a long distance. If you have good aim, they'll fly straight and true. Hence the saying.

[identity profile] acoldshoulder.insanejournal.com 2010-07-05 01:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah... I think I'll use that, then. It seems like a good saying.

[identity profile] assumedposition.insanejournal.com 2010-07-05 01:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Great! It does seem to suit you, somehow. It's nice to meet you then, formally, Arrow.

[identity profile] acoldshoulder.insanejournal.com 2010-07-06 02:29 am (UTC)(link)
[nods]

I appreciate the assistance.
