[There is a new statue in the arena today, towering over the ruins that surround the throne and visible as soon as you begin the descent. It is of finely chiseled white stone, two lovely young women with identical features, and to celebrate the occasion cheerful banners in every team color have been tastefully arranged overhead, hanging from no visible surface at all. Before the throne, a single long table has been set lengthwise; in its center is a tall vase of flowers, and it is draped with grey cloth that shimmers, just a little, every time the light touches it.]

[The voice that rings out in greeting is vibrant- amused.]

A pleasant morning to you, children. So kind of you to come when called. This morning I'll be playing a little game with you, and my sister's agreed to lend herself to making certain everything runs smoothly.

*The new blank has promptly confiscated the largest knife he can find, and his holding it with a fair amount of confidence for someone who has no memory of how to use it. It is not time to systematically check all the other rooms in the dorms. He pushes the doors open quietly, and seems quite prepared to stab anyone if necessary.

And, for those who can see such things, there is a small ghost child floating behind him*
